Babcock & Jenkins is a relationship marketing agency specialized in high-tech B2B communications. The core offerings of the agency include: direct/e-marketing, advertising, collateral, event promotions, identity, social media, interactive design, emerging technologies — anything (often everything) associated with relationship marketing. Our clients range from primarily high-tech businesses (Sun, HP, IBM, Salesforce.com, Epicor, Polycom) to random but related companies (Adify Media, DHL, Getty Images). And we’re adding new ones all the time.

Content strategy and development is a core service (asset development which is then promoted through marketing campaigns). We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating unique content experiences, has a dynamic personality and is comfortable presenting to clients, and is savvy about how and when different audiences engage with content. The role consists of three primary functions: 1) Content Strategy, 2) Content Development, and 3) Creative Leadership.

CONTENT STRATEGY
• Perform audits of client content – whitepapers, webcasts, articles, online tools, video, Flash demos, etc.
• Characterize each piece by audience, topic, type, etc.
• Develop abstracts for publication of all content
• Develop content calendars and content business rules to align with marketing campaigns
• Identify content development needs / present recommendations to clients
• Establish B2B social strategies that align to audience/marketing objectives
• Work with copywriters to establish keywords, best SEO content practices for our sites
• Make and keep relationships with third-party content providers/contract writers
• Scope and negotiate third-party content when necessary

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
• Direct content development projects with a team of writers/designers/programmers
• Serve as the assigned writer or community manager for select client projects

As Content Strategist, you are a leader in the creative department. In partnership with our Creative Directors, you consistently work to uphold and enhance the agency’s standards of quality for creative thought and development. You have the smarts to strategize for diverse audiences and media. You also keep pace with developments in marketing and Web usability and employ that knowledge to create content and content plans that communicate effectively. You will continue to build out our content practice, bringing fresh ideas to ensure we maintain our image of purveyors of fine content.

Requirements include:
• 12+ years experience, advanced leadership and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Understanding of the principles of good relationship marketing
• Ability to translate marketing objectives into engaging content plans across a broad media mix
• Stellar people management and coaching skills, with the ability to give clear creative direction
• Strong research, messaging, copywriting and conceptual abilities
• Portfolio to demonstrate creativity and quality of content development
• Ability to think critically, maintain composure, perspective and priorities under pressure
